The Challenge
A government subcontractor is tasked with inspecting and servicing radio components of military
aircraft. As the radios are removed, a clear chain of custody log must be maintained. The paper
log is insecure, inaccurate and inaccessible. It can be damaged, lost, and entries forged. The log
needs replaced with a secure and accurate system.
The record keeping goals were:
- To identify which unique aircraft are outfitted with which unique radios.
- To monitor the chain of custody of each unique radio as they move through the inspection and
service process.
- To identify which radios have been inspected and which require inspection and possible
service.
- To accurately report activity to the prime contractor and provide command with an interface
to export real-time reports.
