Guard Tours - Oversight

The Challenge

A security company provides guards to various other companies to act as a deterrent to potential crime and to perform tours to ensure that the facility is secure. Management and customer require that activity logs are accurate. Each customer facility is different resulting in different tour routes and different activity requirements.

The security company's goals were:

  • To accurately record the time and date of each guard’s tour and the time and date of each inspection point on the tour.
  • To provide the guards with tour route direction customized for the facility that they are working.
  • To provide each guard an interface for reporting incidents and abnormalities to management for immediate escalation.
  • To accurately record which guards are at which client facility and for how long to assist with client billing and payroll.

Sparrow's Solution

  • Each facility is assigned a unique Sparrow QR Code marker that is placed at guard station.
  • Each stop and inspection point on the guard’s tour route is assigned a unique Sparrow QR Code marker.
  • Guards are required to scan the Sparrow Job Site QR Code marker as they arrive and leave.
  • As the guards perform their regular tours, they scan the Sparrow Station QR Code markers at each inspection point to get instructions about what to inspect and where to go next.

ROI & Benefits

  • The security company management is provided with accurate reports concerning each guard’s attendance at each client location each shift.
  • As guards scan the stop and inspection point tour markers, they are provided with information about the tasks to perform at each location, an interface that allows them to log anomalies and directs them to the next inspection point on their tour
  • Logs of inspection point scans and guard station scans provide the security company and facility management with accurate activity reports.
